Terms and Conditions of Warranty

All Artilux products come with consumer guarantees which cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

All rights provided under the 7 Year Warranty are separate from, and in addition to, your rights as a Consumer under the Australian Consumer Law.

7 Year Warranty – Details

    1. Your Artilux Insect Screen, including retractable screens, pleated screens, or any other type of screen (Screen) manufactured by Artilux Australia Pty Ltd (Artilux) comes with a 7 year product warranty covering manufacturing defects (7 Year Warranty). The 7 Year Warranty is effective from the date of purchase.
    2. Where the Screen is defective, Artilux will decide whether to repair or replace the Screen, free of charge, under the 7 Year Warranty. Where repair or replacement of the Screen is not possible, Artilux will refund you the purchase price of your Screen.

7 Year Warranty – Exclusions

  1. The 7 Year Warranty excludes the following:
    1. the Screen’s paint finishes; and
    2. the Screen’s mesh, fabric, cords and any other components attached or directly associated with the structure or composition of the insect screen gauze.
  2. The 7 Year Warranty also excludes the following:
    1. damage caused by negligent use or care, misuse, neglect, carelessness or operation or handling contrary to the instructions and maintenance guide supplied by Artilux. For example:
      1. damage or deterioration to the mesh or Screen components by inadequate maintenance (i.e. failure to routinely remove dirt, dust and debris from the aluminium tracks and/or mesh);
      2. damage caused by exposure to windy conditions above the maximum rated wind speed of 7m/s or 25 km per hour;
      3. damage to the mesh or the Screen components caused by humans or pets walking into the Screen;
      4. damage to the mesh or the Screen components caused by impact with foreign objects or heavy debris;
      5. damage to the mesh or the Screen components caused by abrasive cleaning agents, solvents, hot surfaces, oils, cooking utensils, embers, flames, sharp objects, etc.;
      6. failure to retract the mesh for extended periods of time resulting in flattening or sagging of the mesh and/or the supporting cords;
      7. accidental or intentional damage and “acts of god”;
      8. damage caused by contamination of the Screen mesh due to excessive moisture, construction dust or debris; or
      9. fading and deterioration of surface finishes or mesh due to extreme exposure to sun, rain, abrasion, heat or cold;
    2. damage caused by general “wear and tear” – ageing of components is a natural consequence of normal Screen use;
    3. damage caused by Screen assembly, installation, maintenance and /or adjustment by any third party, including “do it yourself” installations (that is, any person which is not employed by or contracted by Artilux); or
    4. damage caused by incorrect site selection or inappropriate operational conditions. This can occur when:
      1. the Screen installation location has been selected by you against Artilux advice and recommendation;
      2. you fail to inform Artilux about the environmental conditions at the proposed installation location or don’t answer our questions accurately; or
      3. the installation location has been selected by you without consulting or advising Artilux of such location and its conditions.
  3. The 7 Year Warranty excludes replacement of windows, doors or any other structure or fixture to which the Artilux Insect Screen was affixed.

Once we receive your claim we may ask you to send more information, including photos, and arrange a time to inspect the Screen.
